What will an uncensored private AI do, and what won't it?
Short answer: It answers lawful adult questions directly and does not lecture. It does not make illegal acts legal, and anything involving minors is blocked, logged and reported.

What does "uncensored" actually mean?
Uncensored means the assistant refuses far fewer lawful requests and does not lecture you for asking them. It describes how the assistant behaves when you ask a hard or sensitive question, nothing more.
Most often this is an open model, meaning one whose files you can download and run yourself, used without a vendor's policy layer on top. The word does not promise accuracy, and it is not a license to break the law.
A plain test: if a question is lawful and you are an adult, a shared app may decline or add a warning, while this kind of assistant just answers. If a request is unlawful, the tool being private changes nothing about that.
What will it do that a shared app often won't?
It will answer frank questions about medicine, law, security and creative writing directly, for adults, without a stack of warnings.
It can also write fiction with mature themes for adult readers. If it is set up as an agent, which is a model that can call tools in a loop, it can summarize an inbox, draft replies, schedule meetings and research topics for you.
Because it runs in an account you control, a vendor cannot change its rules on you next quarter. The model still follows whatever instructions you set for it.
- Direct answers on sensitive but lawful topics
- Fiction and creative work for adult readers
- Drafting, summarizing and research
- Tool use, such as email and calendar, when you connect them
What is blocked no matter what you type?
Anything involving minors is blocked, logged and reported. The terms of use, currently marked as a draft, name sexual content involving minors, and content that looks child-like, as forbidden.
No wording or stated age changes this. The Freeborn Labs terms say there is no appeal for a request that states or implies a minor. This is a limit that never moves.
Does uncensored mean the law stops applying?
No. The law applies to you exactly as it did before. What you ask an assistant to help with is judged the way it would be without AI: help planning a crime is still a crime.
Child sexual abuse material, intimate images of real people made without their consent, fraud, threats and harassment are unlawful whatever tool produced them. Freeborn Labs does not help anyone break the law. For a fuller walk through, read is it legal to run an uncensored AI.
Who is responsible for what it produces?
You are. The terms put it plainly: you are responsible for what you ask for and what you do with the output.
The model can also be wrong. Willingness to answer is not the same as skill, and an open model can be confidently mistaken. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
Private also does not mean secret from everyone. Keep strong passwords, limit who can log in, keep backups, and treat the conversations as records that you are responsible for.
What does Freeborn Labs do, and what does it leave to you?
Freeborn Labs sets up and runs a private assistant for adults, in a cloud account you own, and then trains you to use it. A person does the setup, and you can walk away with it. We do not hold your files, connections use HTTPS, stored keys are encrypted, and we do not train on your data.
We do not call this anonymous or perfectly private. The model and the GPU host process your text while it runs. We also promise no outcomes. If you would rather have a person do the setup, see the private AI setup service. If you would rather build it yourself, start with the DIY guides.
What are the limits?
An uncensored private AI is not a lawyer, a doctor or a financial adviser. This page is general information, not legal, medical, financial or tax advice, and Freeborn Labs gives none. Ask your own counsel, compliance officer or adviser about your situation.
It does not make illegal acts legal, it can be wrong, and it is not for anyone under 18. Model licenses and your cloud host's rules can also set limits of their own, so read them. For the full picture, see what is an uncensored AI agent and more questions answered in the private AI answers hub.
