Your own personal AI agent, private to you
Short answer: A personal AI agent that knows your life, runs in your own account, and answers to you alone. What it can do for one person, what it costs, and what it cannot do.

What a personal agent is
A personal AI agent is an assistant dedicated to one person. It remembers your preferences, reads the accounts you connect and does errands with them: drafting, scheduling, research, travel planning, reminders, document handling. A public chatbot starts every chat knowing nothing about you. A personal agent in your own account can be given context that persists.
Why private
The more it knows about you, the more a leak would matter. Running it in a cloud account that you own keeps the memory, the keys and the logs under your control, and no vendor can change the rules or discontinue the product that your routine depends on.
What it is not
It is not a person and it does not replace judgment. It makes mistakes, and for money or legal matters you should check its work. It is an open model, so on the hardest reasoning the best closed models are stronger. It is for adults and blocks anything involving minors.
A realistic first month
Week one: connect email and calendar, and test drafts. Week two: add recurring work such as a morning brief and follow-up reminders. Week three: add research and document tasks. Week four: review what saved time and what did not, and switch off the rest. A personal agent earns its keep through a few dependable routines, not through doing everything.
Getting one
You can build one yourself on a rented GPU if you enjoy that. Freeborn Labs builds it for you and keeps it running: $10,000 setup plus $48,000 a year or $4,800 a month, compute at cost. You log in and start.
Questions
Can I have my own personal AI agent?
Yes: run an open model with a tool-calling harness in an account you own, or have Freeborn Labs set it up.
Does a personal agent remember me?
It can, if memory is enabled. What it stores and where is something you control in your own account.
